7 Things You Can Do To Turn Your Bad Day Into A Good One

All of us have bad days now and again, and some tend to be worse than others. A terrible day can be distressing and make you feel depressed and have you obsess over what's gone wrong. Here are some tips to help improve your bad day:

1. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

Don't beat yourself up when you’ve just discovered you've made a blunder. The truth is, all of us make mistakes, and making them is a great way to understand life better and finding out what works for you. If you learn from a mistake and accept it, your entire day will probably turn out better and so will your life.

2. Spend time outside and get some fresh air.

If you're able to take a walk or just sit in the sun, go for it. Some fresh air will help lower your anxiety or depression. Sometimes when we get distressed, we tend to hold our breath longer than we should, thus don't forget to breathe in and out.

3. Try to find beauty.

Sometimes it can be difficult to appreciate the beauty around you if you feel overwhelmed. If nature isn’t easily reachable, visit a museum or art gallery, or even the mall, just to invite a little light into your life.

4. Accept that you are having a challenging day.

Get some perspective on what’s transpiring by telling yourself that your survival rate for past bad days is 100%. Knowing that the situation is temporary and that things will get better, will allow you to deal with whatever is happening

5. Carry out a random act of kindness.

Do something for someone who won't be able to repay you, just because you can. Doing things for others is proven to bring you joy.

6. Make time to do something you love.

Schedule time to read a book or watch a movie or do whatever it is you love. The thought is to allow yourself something to look forward to. It helps to have something to pass the time, stop you from overthinking, and away from your issues, at least for a short while.

7. Make a list of things that make you happy.

Write down the things that make you happy. It can be anything from coffee to pizza to fluffy blankets or rainy days. Just focus on things that bring you joy

We can't control the majority of things which happen to us. However, we can control the way we respond to these moments and days where life just manages to push back really hard.
